A mathematical model of the light diffraction on phased arrays with quasi-sinusoidal and rectangular profiles is considered. Characteristics of the diffracted light are given as functions of the phased array parameters as well as the connection between the intensity of light, diffracted in the specified order, and the relief depth and relation between sizes of hills and hollows for a rectangular profile are presented. The influence of the profile inclination of a phased array on conditions of viewing is studied. Relationships are found which provide comfortable binocular viewing of phased arrays.
