Influence of speckle noise on image quality in a laser imaging system, is reviewed. Speckle noise dispersion dependence on both coherence length of laser radiation and surface roughness, is investigated. Conditions of speckle noise dominance are analysed. Relative enhancement of minimal resolvable contrast due to the speckle noise is examined as a basic feature of the laser imaging system speckle noise-insensitivity.
