A new type of viewing device - laser imaging system (LIS) with semi-conducting projector is considered. The LIS detection characteristics are introduced, their analysis method is proposed. The LIS pilot unit is developed and built, its field testing is performed, the method to estimate their detectability is experimentally confirmed.
