Heaviside’s Function Application in Analysis of Queuing System Operation

A mathematical model of dynamics of the Gigabit Ethernet controllable switch - one of the basic units of contemporary telecommunication systems - is developed. An original approach, differing from the widely used one based on the queuing theory, has been applied in the model synthesis. The developed model takes into account the variable frame size and variation of an interval between frames as well as a level of congestion of the switch device.
