The problems of transmitted power control, properties of power control algorithms for cellular radio systems using FDMA, TDMA and asynchronous CDMA, are analysed. The main attention is paid to indepth consideration of combined power control algorithm and cell site selection in the spread spectrum cellular systems. It is shown that due to the decentralised manner there is an advantage to apply this algorithm for decreasing interference and maximising network capacity.
