Impact of Error in Modulation Index on Error Performance of Communication System with Continuous- Phase Modulation Signals

An impact of errors in modulation index at the receiving and transmitting sides on the error performance of a communication system with continuous-phase modulation signals is studied in case of coherent demodulation. A technique for calculating the error performance of a communication system is presented for the case of the modulation index error. Dependences of the error probability on a ratio between the signal energy and the spectral density of noise power with different errors in modulation indices are given.
