Digital synchronization systems are analized with application of Markov chain theory and mathematical simulation. The following classic types of phase-locked loops are examined: Holmes’ scheme, two various kinds of Cessna’s-Levy’s, Osataka’s and Agava’s devices. The following characteristics of the systems are compared: phase error dispersion, mean time prior to slip of cycle, mean time to phase correction, phase error spectra.
