A technique is given for investigating the spatial resolution of array antennas of various configurations with radiation and reception of ultra wideband video pulse signals. The technique is based on finding the generalized uncertainty functions by spatial Cartesian coordinates, calculating and analyzing their 2D-sections with an arbitrary arrangement of array elements. The sections allow a size of the spatial resolution element and a level of side lobes to be estimated quantitatively depended on the array size and configuration, interelement distances and a frequency bandwidth (duration) of video pulse signals.
