Study of Amplitude and Phase Modulation Characteristics of Liquid-Crystal 3-D Light Modulator in Optical System of Holographic Memory

Optimal parameters of modulation schemes for data pages corresponding to requirements of the holographic memory system are given. The plots of amplitude and phase modulation characteristics obtained after processing of experimental data are analyzed; three points are determined for coding the unity and zero bits, which are optimal for implementation of hybrid nodulation. The parameters of the 3-D light modulator are indicated, at which it is shifted to the working point, i.e., the corresponding positions of the polarizer and analyzer and the level of voltage supplied to the plates of the liquid-crystal cell are given.
