An effect of the stabilization channel interconnection for a free gyrostabilizer on its stability due to the viscous friction in gyro precession axes is considered. It is shown that the stability of linear separate channels is not an adequate condition for the free gyrostabilizer stability. In case of astatic single-axis channels with non-linearity in unloading circuits, depending on the non-linearity form, either there occur self-oscillations in the free gyrostabilizer or it is stable in the small in spite of the stability of the single-axis channels. Results of the non-linear gyroscopic system study based on the harmonic linearization method are correlated to those of the numerical solution of non-linear differential equations.
