Taking into account the radial nonuniform rigidity of bracings with rectangular cross sections, a mechanism of occurrence of the orientation error due to the "breaking off" moment of the pendulum during the action of overloads along the hanger axis is considered. Basic relations describing the displacements of the axis of sensitivity are presented. A value of this error is estimated and a conclusion is drawn on its importance for precision accelerometers. A means is offered of adjusting the moving system of the device for reducing the considered error to acceptable values.
