The existing methods of transaction processing in parallel DBMS are analyzed. The model of transaction processing is developed in the form of closed and open queuing systems. The Laplace-Stieltjes transform of transaction time in parallel DBMS is given and variants of this transform are considered for different architectures of database parallel systems. An approach to architecture selection is analyzed which uses the cost criterion with restriction for the upper boundary of the confidence interval of transaction time.
