The possibility is considered of decrease in the onboard apparatus set of the duplex satellite-to-satellite optical communication line as a result of application of new powerful fiber-optical amplifiers and transfer to half duplex signal transmission that is expedient in lines between a low-orbit (informational) satellite and a geostationary satellite (retranslator). Realizations of the suggestions allows one to substantially simplify the traditional structure of the system and optical scheme, to refuse from the forestalling system, to get rid of dividing counter-flows by wavelengths and of requiring the stability of radiation polarization apparatus, which will provide a decrease in the apparatus mass and dimension by a factor of 2-3 and increase in the system reliability.
